Flea Market in Kemer
On 4–5 July 2026, Ayışığı Park in Kemer hosted its first antiques flea market. Vintage household pieces, books, jewellery and a welcoming atmosphere brought residents, visitors and collectors together.

A first for Moonlight Park
On the weekend of 4–5 July 2026, Ayışığı Park in Kemer welcomed residents and visitors to its first antiques flea market.

The weekend brought nostalgia and a love of collecting to Moonlight Park. Inspired by Antalya's many flea markets, Erendiz Hamamcıoğlu, known in Kemer for her voluntary social and cultural work, used social media to call for a flea market in Kemer.
The response was enthusiastic. Working with Tansel Akşit, an antique collector and managing director of Ayışığı Park, she quickly brought the idea to life. The park's greenery and nearby beach gave the first market a memorable setting.
Kemer residents, hotel guests, beach visitors and Hamamcıoğlu's German friends with links to Türkiye came to browse. In the sunshine and shade of mature trees, stalls offered collectables, shellac records, metalwork, modern art, toys, handmade goods, clothing and decorative pieces. Some visitors rediscovered childhood favourites or found objects they had sought for years.
The name “flea market” is associated with old markets in Paris, where traders sold second-hand clothing and furniture that could harbour fleas. Over time, such markets spread around the world, becoming places for trade, culture and social contact.
Some stallholders donated their proceeds to charity, giving the event a social purpose as well as supporting local trade.
Late on Sunday, an auction brought the event to a lively close. Items found new owners, and participants were keen to see the market return.
Kemer's municipal administration supports cultural and social events, from projects encouraging women's participation in production to arts initiatives. Its support helped make the antiques flea market a success and brought people together in the town. Our thanks go to Mayor Necati Topaloğlu and the municipal team.
Some participants thanked the organizing team on social media. One participant wrote: "Participating in a flea market, which I like to visit in every city I visit, was a very special experience for me this time. I hope it will continue."
Another participant explained that the event promoted environmental awareness: "It was a very valuable event because discarded items were reused and social life in Kemer was stimulated. I think it would be beneficial to hold it regularly at certain intervals."
